Ok here is my rant~

Something I hate, something I hate so much, like with a vengence is Politics. I always get flamed like hell, when I bring this up... but stuff it. I hate Politics.

Why? You may ask. I hate politics because I get so sick of people complaining. No matter who is in government, people will always complain. Either people complain about paying too many taxes, or that the health system isn't good enough...blah blah blah/ I get so tired of the constant bickering that goes on. People always want more of this and less of that. I get so sick of it.

My person i knew a while ago... used to complain like hell about politics. Such and Such wouldn't do that if he was he Prime Minister, look at what such and such is doing... blah blah blah arhhhh. I got so sick of it, that one I just said- for fucks sake, if you complain so much why don't you bloodly well get out and do something about it. They are just another people who is all talk and no action~~~ arhh I HATE POLITICS.

I love that the phrase "for fucks sake" is known the world over.  Sometimes I think I've gone to another level of vulgarity, but it would seem that if that's the case, I'm in good company Smiley

Anyway, I think people have an inherent need to complain.  Political systems are structurally defective entities, and everything any governmental entitiy does will always piss off someone or other.  So, politics seems to get the brunt of the bitching because it impacts people's lives through taxes, government programs, laws, etc, and people feel helpless to change anything so they just bitch to each other.

There's a series of commercials running on TV here in the states that are pretty good.  In one of them, a bunch of people are standing around a sink, presumably at an office.  The sink has something stuck in the drain and it's clogged.  One person says to another "I can't believe someone would do this", another says "Someone should do something about this", and a third says "we need to go find who did this and make them pay!", and a fourth person walks between them all and pulls out the thing in the drain and the water empties out.  The point being, don't sit around and complain, take action if you don't like something.

But then, what would we bitch about?

New Zealand isn't that isolated from the world. Though our language is originally from the British English, it is greatly influenced by American English through the mediums of media such as TV, movies, internet, etc.. Our New Zealand English language is becoming very much like Australian English, including the old famous "G'day". But as very much so with Australian English it contains a large percentage of American English and Culture but we will always  spell colour, like colour... not silly color.

But "for fucks sake" has been well spread around the globe with the old chatroon famous acronym FFS. Thats why we say it. My Grandparents will be turning in their graves.

But are you calling me vulgar?

But that is what I get sick of- we have elections coming up this weekend and with politics being a common topic at the moment, it just reminds me how much I hate it. I suppose it isn't Politics, I suppose I just get sick of people bitching on and on yet they do nothing. It hypocrits like that that just piss me off. Thats my rant.

But I just realised that this point of view is totally flawed. As myself is ranting about Politics and people who Bitch, but it is I who is actually bitching now. Does this make me any better than all the other bitchers?

I think that just makes you human - we like to bitch, even if it's about people bitching.

It would seem that you get the added benefit of all the imported political bitching from the US in addition to NZ's.  Here, we don't seem to care too much about any other country's political problems, unless they get really bad, then there's a 15 second comment made about it.

I honestly don't see why people get worked up over politics. Something like religion or whatever would make more sense to be touchy over.

I actually see it the other way around.  Religion is arguing over something that really doesn't affect you directly.  Did Noah really herd 1234245234234564564564 animals onto a big boat?  Does it really make a difference to me?

On the other hand, if one politician is going to increase my taxes by 10% or stop a program that I like, or start one that I think should be started, then it affects my life.
