So here's some more information:
Identify the areas of your life that are most important to you, and visualize how the will be important to you in 30 years, and what kind of effect that will have on your life 30 years from now.
Then, think about all of the things that you need to do to make each one of those areas become what you imagine.
It's really a process of looking at your life like a project. Identify what you want the end product to look like, then work backward on what things you will have to do to get there. It makes a lot of sense. We all want our lives to turn out a certain way, but we mostly float through life hoping that our "dreams" will somehow magically come true. That would be pretty unreasonable from a project view. You would not undertake a large-scale project without a good deal of planning and scope definition and whatnot and just "hope" that the end product comes out how you imagined. It seems pretty crazy to think it could ever happen, but almost everyone does that with their lives. Including me.
